In the video below, Gamespot's Danny O'Dwyer takes on a question that's been buzzing around the internet quite a bit recently: should Nintendo stop making consoles and get out of the hardware market?
Much of this question has been fueled by the news that Nintendo was experiencing massive cuts to their own Wii U sales projections, leading to sharp drops in Nintendo stock and causing everyone from gamers to business analysts to spout of an opinion over whether Nintendo should keep developing hardware or just stick to games.
O'Dwyer points out that "The Wii U has been a commercial failure, both in terms of Nintendo's expectations and that of the consumer," but ultimately notes that it doesn't seem likely that Nintendo will bow out of the console market, due to their lengthy history with console development and current success with handheld devices like the 3DS and 2DS. Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
