The Ville's Player Love flash sale means 20% off all items for one day only

Normally, market sales in your favorite Facebook games are announced in advance, or are at least available long enough to allow all players to have a chance to score some great deals. In the Ville's first ever Player Love event, though, we've been treated to a deal that will be around for less than 24 hours, making this a newsworthy event indeed.

For the rest of today, Ville players can login to the market to find that all items, whether they originally cost coins or Ville Cash, have been marked down by 20%. There's no item marker that tells you the item's original price, but we can confirm that these items are in fact on sale. A Brown Bandstand Turntable from the Mod theme, for instance, originally cost 2,500 coins, but you can now pick it up for 2,000.

Of course, the higher the item's original price, the more coins you'll save by purchasing it, but don't forget about the slew of cheap items that are also available to purchase. A nice potted plant or wall accessory might be just the touch your virtual house needs to really feel complete. Just make sure to shop fast if you're interested in grabbing a bargain, because these deals won't be around for long.

FarmVille Spring Items: Purple Tulip crop, Bumble Bee Tree and more

A new series of Spring-themed items have launched in the FarmVille marketplace, bringing a new cash-only crop to the game, along with new trees, animals and other decorations for use on your many farms. These items are all limited edition, as you might expect, but we're here with a look at these new items so that you'll know what to expect when you head into the store to shop.

Purple Tulip - 5 Farm Cash

For 5 Farm Cash, you'll have a week-long permit to plant as many Purple Tulips as you'd like. You'll gain two experience points for each plot harvested, and will earn 135 coins for each square. They can be harvested after eight hours of waiting, and the first star of mastery for this exclusive crop comes at 600 individual squares harvested.

Fringe Tree - 6 Farm Cash
Goldenchain Tree - 12 Farm Cash
Bumble Bee Tree - 14 Farm Cash
Giant Bumble Bee Tree - 8 Farm Cash

If you're keeping score, the level two Giant Bumble Bee Tree has been priced as the cheaper of the pair, which is unusual for such tree releases in the store. If I had to make a guess, this has been a error, rather than a purposeful change, so I'd wait at least a day before making a purchase of either to see if the prices stick. If they are intentional, I bet we'll see a lot of angry players who won't want to pay the increased prices for these level one trees.

CityVille: Add the luck of the Irish to your town with St. Patrick's Day items

A new series of six decorations and buildings have been added to the CityVille marketplace in a St. Patrick's Day theme. While six buildings may not be enough, these are some of the most important buildings we've seen released in the game for some time. Why? You'll need to build them and collect from them if you want to finish the Rainbow in your town, along with its goal. Here's a rundown of the six items.

Shamrock Chateau (Home) Costs: 25 City CashPopulation: 1,150 - 1,930Rent: 300 coins every 18 hours
Blarney Stone House (Home) Costs: 35,000 coinsPopulation: 180 - 340Rent: 373 coins every 2.1 days
McGroarty Mansion (Home) Costs: 40 City CashPopulation: 1,500 - 2,400Rent: 275 coins every eight hours
Patty's Place (Home) Costs: 60,000 coinsPopulation: 260 - 500Rent: 310 coins every day

Again, you'll need to build three Irish Buildings to finish the Rainbow Connection goal in your city. You must build new St. Patrick's Day buildings for this to count, so having items from last year's event does nothing. Also, the more you have in your city, the more Shamrocks you'll be able to collect for your Rainbow, as they drop at random when tending these new buildings. Just make sure to purchase the ones you're interested in now, rather than later, as they'll only be available for a limited time!

FarmVille Hawaiian Paradise: Limited edition items are available on all farms

While it's true that some of the content in FarmVille's Hawaiian Paradise is specific to that farm, there are some limited edition items that have been released in a separate Hawaiian Paradise theme, for coins or Farm Cash, that can be purchased on any of your farms. These items will be available for the next two weeks (whereas the rest of the Hawaiian Paradise-specific items are permanent), so here's a look at those items you need to purchase sooner, rather than later.

FarmVille Anti Valentine's Day Items: Dark Heart Tree, Black Rose Mini and more

Just as the Valentine's Day theme has continued to grow in FarmVille, so too has the Anti Valentine's Day theme. There are new trees, animals and even decorations to choose from in the store, so let's take a look at these newly released items.

FarmVille Valentine's Day Items: Chocolate Heart Tree, Chocolate Waterfall and more

As February draws closer, we've seen the Valentine's Day theme in FarmVille expand a bit this week, with the release of five items in the theme (although, none of them are actually new).

Trees

Chocolate Heart Tree - 5 Farm Cash
Giant Chocolate Heart Tree - 10 Farm Cash

If you missed out on these trees previously, remember that you can still earn the Giant Chocolate Heart Tree at random from Mystery Seedlings.

Animals

Gumball Sheep - 14 Farm Cash
Pink Gypsy Horse - 26 Farm Cash

The Gumball Sheep has been available for free as a free-gift-with-purchase in a past Farm Cash promotion in the game, so make sure you don't already have one of these in your game before spending the Farm Cash on another.

Decorations

Chocolate Waterfall - 20 Farm Cash

These items will be available in the game for just the next two weeks, which means that by the time Valentine's Day actually rolls around, they will have already expired from the store. If you missed out on any of these items in their original releases and want to plan ahead for the Valentine's Day holiday next month, make sure to grab them now while you can.

FarmVille: Broken items offer hints of things to come?

Well now, isn't this interesting? This isn't the first time that Zynga has accidentally "released" items to the FarmVille marketplace before they were supposed to be publicly available, but we're definitely intrigued all the same. The folks at FVNation spotted these five items as being broken, but available to purchase within the game's store, and all of them fit into a winter / ice theme.

One item, the Icefishing Hut is specifically labeled as being a part of the Winter Fantasy theme, and is available for 15 Farm Cash. Three other items - a Ushanka Polar Bear, Bow Wolf and Ice Walrus - also cost Farm Cash (16, 10 and 12, respectively), but aren't labeled in any particular theme. Finally, the fifth item, the Fishing Camp, is available for just 5,000 coins, meaning that even if the developers catch their mistakes and remove these items from the store, it's worth purchasing one just to see if you can keep it.

Again, these items are currently broken in the store, meaning that if you decide to purchase them, they'll most likely show up as nothing but black shadows on your farms (this is the case with the Fishing Camp). With the Farm Cash items, there's no guarantee that these items will actually become functional down the line, so I personally wouldn't risk it. However, for the Fishing Camp - why not? At worst, you're out 5,000 coins if Zynga removes the item entirely, and at best, you're allowed to have a goal reward or otherwise exclusive item for an incredibly cheap price!

We'll make sure to let you know if these items are released in legitimate, working order in the game, so keep checking back with us!

CityVille: Celebrate Chinese New Year with new limited edition items

While Chinese New Year might not be a holiday most gamers think to celebrate, Zynga seems to be the exception to the rule, as CityVille's store has received an update containing Chinese themed items that will only be available for a limited time. these items are available for both coins or City Cash, meaning that there's something for everyone. Whether or not you choose to combine them with your Red Envelope Store will be up to you, but here's a complete look at the new items all the same.

Hungry Dragon Buffet Costs: 55 City CashRequires: 380 GoodsEarns: 1,990 coins

So far, this theme isn't very large, but as there's still some time left before the Chinese New Year holiday actually arrives, it's possible we'll see more items released between now and then (January 23). Either way, these items will expire from the store after 16 days, so make sure to purchase them before they leave or you'll miss your chance to have them, potentially forever.

MargaritaVille Online: December brings Christmas items and Hammock Time upgrades [Exclusive]

We've been following the progress of THQ's MargaritaVille Online on Facebook for some time now, and have seen the game grow, even bringing you an in-depth, hands-on preview from the game's Closed Beta. Even though MargaritaVille Online won't launch openly on Facebook until the new year, that doesn't mean that Christmas won't come to the islands, as over 30 new items will be released for your Oasis Bar, boat and even character to celebrate the holiday season.

Of course, just because Christmas has come to MargaritaVille Online, doesn't mean you can expect a blanket of snow to have fallen over everything. On the contrary, snowmen are now made out of sand, and while traditional Christmas trees will also be available, you can also celebrate Christmas with festive palm trees.

We have an exclusive look at those items in the images below, but are also happy to bring you the news that one of the game's mini-games will also undergo some exciting changes. Hammock Time, the game's take on a match-three title, will offer new challenges to complete and offer the ability to create exploding barrels by performing well. From the screenshot above, it looks as though exploding barrels will appear when making matches of five of the same kind of item. It's also possible to form items that look like Sand Dollars, which will also serve a special purpose that has yet to be made clear.

If you're in the game's Closed Beta, make sure to keep playing to see these items eventually appear for purchase in the game's stores, and try your hand at the new Hammock Time upgrades before everyone else. For the rest of us, we'll just be left staring at some (admittedly fun) images until the real deal launches publicly in January.
