Yahoo, Klout, Bing, Scribd, Birthdays, News and SoundCloud on This Week’s Top 20 Growing Facebook Apps by DAU

Yahoo topped our list of the fastest growing applications by daily active users, other Connect apps were on the list, too, such as Klout, TakeThisLollipop, Bing and Scribd. There were a few birthday apps, newspaper apps, and then a grouping of Page tabs, music apps and virtual gifts. The titles below grew from between 100,000 and 4.5 million DAU, based on AppData, our data tracking service covering growth for apps on Facebook.

Top Gainers This Week

As we mentioned, Yahoo topped the list with 1.7 million DAU, and other Connect apps made the list, too. Horror fantasy TakeThisLollipop grew by 320,00 DAU, social media influence measurer Klout grew by 270,000 DAU, Bing by 200,000 DAU, Windows Live Messenger also by 200,000 DAU, Scribd by 180,000 DAU and comedy site 9GAG by 120,000 DAU.

Birthday apps MyCalendar – Birthdays grew by 350,000 DAU, MeinKalender – Geburtstag by 330,000 DAU and MonCalendrier – Anniversaires by 150,000 DAU. These apps promise to allow users to create a customized birthday calendar with friends’ birthdays but first must invite others to use the app. Newspaper apps on the list included The Independent with 290,000 DAU and Washington Post Social Reader with 270,000 DAU.

The rest of the list included Norton Safe Web with 380,000 DAU, virtual gifting app *Smiles with 180,000 DAU and Static IFRAME Tab : ThumbsUp Icon with 140,000 DAU.  Music app SoundCloud grew by 110,000 DAU and lets users put tracks from the site on their profiles. Finally, Astrology grew by 100,000 DAU.
