Ludia has another hit on its hands with Pako King: DreamWorks Adventures on Facebook. While the game launched back in August, it’s just now taking off, climbing from 66,000 monthly active users (MAU) on December 24 to over 294,000 MAU today. The game sees players interacting with popular characters form the DreamWorks films, including Shrek, Po, Alex, Toothless and more.
Pako King: DreamWorks Adventures is a level-based puzzle game, in the same design as PopCap’s Peggle. In each level, players are presented with a set of pegs, and must shoot balls at those pegs to clear them from the screen. A bucket moves back and forth along the bottom of the screen, and landing the ball in this bucket awards players a free shot.
Players have a limited number of shots available before failing a stage, with remaining shots being spent in a “bouncing spree” at the end of the level. That is, if five moves are remaining when the last key peg is destroyed, five additional balls join the screen to destroy pegs and rack up tons of points.
Gamers earn up to three stars on each stage, and can replay these levels to increase their high score or climb up their friend leaderboard. However, players must spend coins to access levels, and have further monetization options in the form of power-ups that cost premium currency.
Pako King: DreamWorks Adventures is available to play for free on Facebook. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
